Starting my yoga journey during my sophomore year in college, at a time I would say I really needed it. Then as the semester ended I found myself taking advantage of free weeks at various yoga studios in Boston. As a college kid I wasn’t able to afford a yoga membership, but wanted to continue my practice when I was back home. As I traveled studio to studio I noticed a common theme a lack of representation, which made me feel as though it was an activity wasn’t able to participate in. After embarking on my YTT200 I’ve learned so much and want to inform other on how this is more than just ‘stretching’ that this practice isn’t for a certain race this is a practice that is meant to nourish the mind body and soul. I want to be a teacher in the yoga community and provide a space where we can connect back with our bodies.
